Many people are frustrated by uncertainty and complexity in their jobs. I use Agile principles to provide clear and simple strategies so that you can win at work!

Perhaps ADHD is evolution at work. Distraction & multiple streams of information are the norms for many of us today. Is it possible that we are evolving to take advantage of this new environmental condition?

Here are some ways symptoms of ADHD can be beneficial at work:

1. ADHD offers protection against the “constraints of existing knowledge.” in other words you are more able to think outside the box if our brain won’t allow you to stay inside any box for very long.

2. ADHD increases divergent thinking. New ideas & alternate paths forward continually present themselves & short mental explorations of these paths are conducted with ease.

3. Creativity in general, but especially in problem solving seems to be innate for those who have ADHD. There is speculation as to whether it is caused by the condition or caused by having to deal with the day-to-day side effects of having ADHD, but in either case, it is a great tool to have in one’s toolbox.

4. People with ADHD tend to fall into the coveted “T-Shaped Skill Set” more readily. They realize they need to have deep knowledge in one area, yet they are unable to avoid picking up related skills & proficiencies. This provides a wide general subject matter knowledge along with that deeper specialty.
